Scafftools started selling scaffolding tools on the Internet in 2007 using a DIY package from 1&* Int***** Ltd. Whilst this provided an entry into ecommerce it soon became obvious that sales were limited by the way in which the shop and products were presented to the web by the platform.

Scafftools started selling scaffolding tools on the Internet in 2007 using a DIY package from 1&* Int***** Ltd. Whilst this provided an entry into ecommerce it soon became obvious that sales were limited by the way in which the shop and products were presented to the web by the platform.

Initially the package was simple to publish to the Internet. However, using all of the available features and benefits of the package felt like 'swimming through syrup'.

The poor performance linking scafftools shopping basket to our chosen payment gateway, Protx, resulted in regular lengthy downtimes. Sub-standard levels of customer support provided by overseas administration centres were hampering our efforts to resolve issues and improve. Our sales revenue had seemingly hit a plateau, our spend on PPC (Pay-Per-Click) was constantly high and our organic listing on Google had peaked and was dropping off. Our site had become stale. And so we decided that our business deserved better.

Tiger Commerce had been in dialogue with us throughout 2008. Occasional telephone calls gently reminded us that there was another level we could go to. We took up their offer of browsing their customer's sites. Finally in August 2008 we took the decision to allow Tiger Commerce to manage the scafftools web presence... and we haven't looked back!

Tiger Commerce allowed a 'hands on' approach. With only our reasonable experience of IT skills and a basic knowledge of ecommerce, their team were able to empower us, and, with a fantastic support base, enable us to grow the scafftools business.

It is also immensely satisfying to get customer feedback about our newly-designed site. Customers congratulate us on the improvements we have made. It is very apparent we have graduated from a DIY site to a professional one!

It may be early days but GForces and their brilliant Tiger Commerce software have given Scafftools a new lease of life. We continue to grow despite the recession, and with the ongoing relationship with GForces, have high hopes for a bright future.
